Midland School District
Midland High School has been chosen as a member of this year's Rock our World (ROW) international team. We are one of 40 schools chosen from around the world to work on a global music video project and sessions on Healthy Eating and Sustainability! Rock Our World is a global collaborative project in which students from all seven continents compose original music using GarageBand software and produce videos that focus on current topics of global interest. Its mission is to teach technology skills and educationally connect classrooms around the world through video-conferencing. Midland faculty members Karen Wells, Nancy Summitt, and Karen Hurst will be collaborating teachers for the project. Midland students who are selected to participate in the six-week project will be video chatting with schools from the United States, Canada, Mexico, Peru, Poland, Germany, Japan, New Zealand, and Tasmania. Participating students will be selected from teacher or self nominations. The ROW Family Night will be held on 11-11-11.
There will be a 2nd public meeting regarding the building project on Thursday, Sept. 8, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. in the high school cafeteria.
