Lucy Jean Mofield Memorial Scholarship

$1000, for a Midland High School Senior who will pursue post secondary education.

Arkansas School Plant Management Association Scholarship Program

The Arkansas School Plant Management Association (ASPMA) seeks to promote continued education by offering scholarships to deserving students in recognition of their leadership, scholastic achievement and civic participation. Any graduating high school senior planning to attend a College/University, Vocational-Technical or Trade School is eligible to apply. 

ASPMA awards up to $10,000 annually in increments ranging from $1000 to $5000 based on the Scholarship Committee’s evaluation of selection criteria. Scholarships are eligible for renewal when funds are available.

Are  you or your parents a First Electric Customer?   As part of First Electric's commitment to community, the cooperative awards five $2,000 scholarships to area high school seniors each year.   DEADLINE:  April 3, 2017.

Optimist Oratorical Contest

The contest is open to area boys and girls who will be under 18 on October 1, 2016. Depending on the number of entries we will have a boys and girls division. Completed entry forms must be received no later than April 10, 2017.

The contest will be conducted at a special meeting on April 20th, 2017 at the Ryder Room of 1st Community Bank in Batesville starting at 6:30. Local winners will receive an official medallion and a cash prize.  The cash prizes, sponsored by FutureFuel Chemical Company, are first place, $100; second place, $50; and third place $25.

The local first-place winners will also be advanced to the Zone contest.  Zone winners will be advance to the District contest to be heldSaturday May 6th at the Clarion Resort in Hot Springs where they will compete for a $2500 Scholarship.  District winners will advance to the Regional Contest where they will compete for a $5000 scholarship.Regional winners will advance to the Internatioal Contest where they will compete for a $10,000 Scholarship.

The title for this year’s contest is “What the World Gains from Optimism.” It is important to follow the enclosed rules to eliminate lost points or disqualification. Please mail your applications to:

National School Plant Management

Any graduating high school senior, college freshman, sophomore, or junior is eligible to apply for a scholarship. A total of $4,000 has been budgeted through the Scholarship Trust Fund for up to four individuals based on the selection criteria (financial need, academic achievement, co-curricular participation, community service, and essay response). The individual scholarships range from $500 to $1,500 depending on candidate interest, evaluation results, and upon recommendation from the Scholarship Committee.   Deadline:  April 15, 2017.   For Application or more information:  Click Here

 Textbook Brokers

We are excited to share information about a scholarship opportunity for all incoming  freshman beginning classes in the fall semester of 2017.  Textbook Brokers, located in Conway, AR, is offering 5 full textbook rental scholarships (all fall 2017 required textbooks paid).  

This scholarship is available to any first-time freshman attending the University of Central ArkansasCentral Baptist College, or the University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton.  

To apply for these scholarships all the student must do is (1) visit our website ,   (2) click on the "New Student Scholarship" tab, then (3) complete and submit the online application. Supporting documents, recommendation letters, and essays are NOT a requirement.  Students may submit an application until 11:59 pm on May 7, 2017


Heather Wilf Memorial Scholarship Application


Eligibility for the Heather Wilf Memorial Scholarship will be exclusive to a Midland High School graduating senior meeting the following criteria:

  1. Be an agriculture completer through the Midland Ag Program
  2. Attend Arkansas State University (ASU), the University of Arkansas (UA) or Southern Arkansas University (SAU) as your post-secondary school.  The community colleges included in these University systems also qualify.
  3. Graduate high school with a minimum 2.0 GPA on a 4 point grading scale.

Glynn Sharp Scholarship

The Glynn Sharp Scholarship will award a scholarship for $250 to a Midland High School graduating senior who goes on to higher education.  A personal interview may be required as part of the application process.  Deadline:  May  @ 12:00 noon in counselor’s office.
